Internationale Stage Zuid-Afrika
Omschrijving:
Afrika bezoeken, een droom van velen, en wij gaan onze droom verwezenlijken! Wij zijn Matty de Jong, Femke Wouters en Iris in ’t Groen en zijn alle drie 16 jaar oud. We zitten in vwo 5 van het Cambreur College in Dongen waar we een tweetalige opleiding volgen. Hierdoor hebben wij de kans gekregen om een internationale stage te bedenken en uit te voeren. Wij dachten meteen aan Afrika! Juist omdat hier een hele andere cultuur heerst, die wij graag eens willen ervaren. Veel mensen in onze omgeving dachten dat dit een “mission impossible” zou worden en ook onze ouders waren niet meteen heel erg enthousiast. Dit kwam vooral door onze leeftijd en door veel negatieve verhalen over Afrika met betrekking tot veiligheid. Natuurlijk weerhield ons dit niet om onze droom door te zetten. Na maanden lang zoeken naar organisaties die ons willen en kunnen begeleiden op onze stage zijn we uiteindelijk terecht gekomen bij stichting Ubuntu Nederland. Deze stichting heeft ons tot nu toe erg goed geholpen met alles. Ze hebben ons ook in contact gebracht met de Amy Biehl Foundation en ook deze wil ons graag ontvangen in Kaapstad. Hierdoor krijgen onze ouders steeds meer vertrouwen om ons naar Afrika te laten gaan, mede omdat onze leraar Bram Thielen ons ook vergezelt op onze reis. Het project wat we concreet gaan begeleiden is: The Bongolethu Amy Biehl after school centre. Er wordt in dit specifieke project dagelijks aan ongeveer 300 straatkinderen in de townships na school dans, toneel, sport, computerles, taal en….een broodmaaltijd gegeven. De Amy Biehl Foundation draait voor een groot deel uit vrijwilligers. Voor een vrijwilligersorganisatie is het erg belangrijk om uit zoveel mogelijke bronnen geld in te zamelen en daarom is ook ons gevraagd om een donatie van €3000, - euro. Op dit moment zijn wij erg druk bezig met het inzamelen van dit bedrag. Dit kost ons heel veel tijd en energie, maar het vooruitzicht om werkelijk in Afrika te komen, zorgt ervoor dat we alles met veel plezier doen. Het feit dat we al op €1200 zitten en we nog een paar leuke dingen in het vooruitzicht hebben geeft ons veel vertrouwen dat we in het eind van april / het begin van mei een fantastische tijd gaan hebben in Zuid-Afrika. Het zal een ervaring zijn, die ons de rest van ons leven bij blijft.

Internationale Stage Zuid-Afrika
Omschrijving:
Afrika bezoeken, een droom van velen, en wij gaan onze droom verwezenlijken! Wij zijn Matty de Jong, Femke Wouters en Iris in ’t Groen en zijn alle drie 16 jaar oud. We zitten in vwo 5 van het Cambreur College in Dongen waar we een tweetalige opleiding volgen. Hierdoor hebben wij de kans gekregen om een internationale stage te bedenken en uit te voeren. Wij dachten meteen aan Afrika! Juist omdat hier een hele andere cultuur heerst, die wij graag eens willen ervaren. Veel mensen in onze omgeving dachten dat dit een “mission impossible” zou worden en ook onze ouders waren niet meteen heel erg enthousiast. Dit kwam vooral door onze leeftijd en door veel negatieve verhalen over Afrika met betrekking tot veiligheid. Natuurlijk weerhield ons dit niet om onze droom door te zetten. Na maanden lang zoeken naar organisaties die ons willen en kunnen begeleiden op onze stage zijn we uiteindelijk terecht gekomen bij stichting Ubuntu Nederland. Deze stichting heeft ons tot nu toe erg goed geholpen met alles. Ze hebben ons ook in contact gebracht met de Amy Biehl Foundation en ook deze wil ons graag ontvangen in Kaapstad. Hierdoor krijgen onze ouders steeds meer vertrouwen om ons naar Afrika te laten gaan, mede omdat onze leraar Bram Thielen ons ook vergezelt op onze reis. Het project wat we concreet gaan begeleiden is: The Bongolethu Amy Biehl after school centre. Er wordt in dit specifieke project dagelijks aan ongeveer 300 straatkinderen in de townships na school dans, toneel, sport, computerles, taal en….een broodmaaltijd gegeven. De Amy Biehl Foundation draait voor een groot deel uit vrijwilligers. Voor een vrijwilligersorganisatie is het erg belangrijk om uit zoveel mogelijke bronnen geld in te zamelen en daarom is ook ons gevraagd om een donatie van €3000, - euro. Op dit moment zijn wij erg druk bezig met het inzamelen van dit bedrag. Dit kost ons heel veel tijd en energie, maar het vooruitzicht om werkelijk in Afrika te komen, zorgt ervoor dat we alles met veel plezier doen. Het feit dat we al op €1200 zitten en we nog een paar leuke dingen in het vooruitzicht hebben geeft ons veel vertrouwen dat we in het eind van april / het begin van mei een fantastische tijd gaan hebben in Zuid-Afrika. Het zal een ervaring zijn, die ons de rest van ons leven bij blijft.

Internationale Stage Zuid-Afrika
Omschrijving:
Afrika bezoeken, een droom van velen, en wij gaan onze droom verwezenlijken! Wij zijn Matty de Jong, Femke Wouters en Iris in ’t Groen en zijn alle drie 16 jaar oud. We zitten in vwo 5 van het Cambreur College in Dongen waar we een tweetalige opleiding volgen. Hierdoor hebben wij de kans gekregen om een internationale stage te bedenken en uit te voeren. Wij dachten meteen aan Afrika! Juist omdat hier een hele andere cultuur heerst, die wij graag eens willen ervaren. Veel mensen in onze omgeving dachten dat dit een “mission impossible” zou worden en ook onze ouders waren niet meteen heel erg enthousiast. Dit kwam vooral door onze leeftijd en door veel negatieve verhalen over Afrika met betrekking tot veiligheid. Natuurlijk weerhield ons dit niet om onze droom door te zetten. Na maanden lang zoeken naar organisaties die ons willen en kunnen begeleiden op onze stage zijn we uiteindelijk terecht gekomen bij stichting Ubuntu Nederland. Deze stichting heeft ons tot nu toe erg goed geholpen met alles. Ze hebben ons ook in contact gebracht met de Amy Biehl Foundation en ook deze wil ons graag ontvangen in Kaapstad. Hierdoor krijgen onze ouders steeds meer vertrouwen om ons naar Afrika te laten gaan, mede omdat onze leraar Bram Thielen ons ook vergezelt op onze reis. Het project wat we concreet gaan begeleiden is: The Bongolethu Amy Biehl after school centre. Er wordt in dit specifieke project dagelijks aan ongeveer 300 straatkinderen in de townships na school dans, toneel, sport, computerles, taal en….een broodmaaltijd gegeven. De Amy Biehl Foundation draait voor een groot deel uit vrijwilligers. Voor een vrijwilligersorganisatie is het erg belangrijk om uit zoveel mogelijke bronnen geld in te zamelen en daarom is ook ons gevraagd om een donatie van €3000, - euro. Op dit moment zijn wij erg druk bezig met het inzamelen van dit bedrag. Dit kost ons heel veel tijd en energie, maar het vooruitzicht om werkelijk in Afrika te komen, zorgt ervoor dat we alles met veel plezier doen. Het feit dat we al op €1200 zitten en we nog een paar leuke dingen in het vooruitzicht hebben geeft ons veel vertrouwen dat we in het eind van april / het begin van mei een fantastische tijd gaan hebben in Zuid-Afrika. Het zal een ervaring zijn, die ons de rest van ons leven bij blijft.

Reis:
Internationale Stage Zuid-Afrika
Omschrijving:
Afrika bezoeken, een droom van velen, en wij gaan onze droom verwezenlijken! Wij zijn Matty de Jong, Femke Wouters en Iris in ’t Groen en zijn alle drie 16 jaar oud. We zitten in vwo 5 van het Cambreur College in Dongen waar we een tweetalige opleiding volgen. Hierdoor hebben wij de kans gekregen om een internationale stage te bedenken en uit te voeren. Wij dachten meteen aan Afrika! Juist omdat hier een hele andere cultuur heerst, die wij graag eens willen ervaren. Veel mensen in onze omgeving dachten dat dit een “mission impossible” zou worden en ook onze ouders waren niet meteen heel erg enthousiast. Dit kwam vooral door onze leeftijd en door veel negatieve verhalen over Afrika met betrekking tot veiligheid. Natuurlijk weerhield ons dit niet om onze droom door te zetten. Na maanden lang zoeken naar organisaties die ons willen en kunnen begeleiden op onze stage zijn we uiteindelijk terecht gekomen bij stichting Ubuntu Nederland. Deze stichting heeft ons tot nu toe erg goed geholpen met alles. Ze hebben ons ook in contact gebracht met de Amy Biehl Foundation en ook deze wil ons graag ontvangen in Kaapstad. Hierdoor krijgen onze ouders steeds meer vertrouwen om ons naar Afrika te laten gaan, mede omdat onze leraar Bram Thielen ons ook vergezelt op onze reis. Het project wat we concreet gaan begeleiden is: The Bongolethu Amy Biehl after school centre. Er wordt in dit specifieke project dagelijks aan ongeveer 300 straatkinderen in de townships na school dans, toneel, sport, computerles, taal en….een broodmaaltijd gegeven. De Amy Biehl Foundation draait voor een groot deel uit vrijwilligers. Voor een vrijwilligersorganisatie is het erg belangrijk om uit zoveel mogelijke bronnen geld in te zamelen en daarom is ook ons gevraagd om een donatie van €3000, - euro. Op dit moment zijn wij erg druk bezig met het inzamelen van dit bedrag. Dit kost ons heel veel tijd en energie, maar het vooruitzicht om werkelijk in Afrika te komen, zorgt ervoor dat we alles met veel plezier doen. Het feit dat we al op €1200 zitten en we nog een paar leuke dingen in het vooruitzicht hebben geeft ons veel vertrouwen dat we in het eind van april / het begin van mei een fantastische tijd gaan hebben in Zuid-Afrika. Het zal een ervaring zijn, die ons de rest van ons leven bij blijft.

[description] => Wij zijn Iris in 't Groen, Matty de Jong en Femke Wouters. We zitten op het Cambreur College in Dongen. In verband met onze tweetalige opleiding, gaan wij een internationale stage lopen. Wij gaan dit doen bij de Amy Biehl Foundation in Zuid-Afrika. Hier zijn we via Ubuntu-Nederland terecht gekomen. De Amy Biehl Foundation heeft als doel om geweld en criminaliteit onder jongeren in de townships rond Kaapstad te verminderen en om deze kinderen een betere toekomst te bieden met behulp van educatieve en culturele programma's (sport, muziek, creatieve kunst, HIV/AIDS, groenvoorziening, lezen).
Amy Biehl was een getalenteerde, dynamische jonge vrouw uit Amerika. Ze was al van jongs af aan vastbesloten om zich in te zetten voor andere mensen. In 1993 besloot ze zich te wijden aan het ontwikkelen van een multiculturele democratie in Zuid-Afrika. Ze werkte mee aan de nieuwe grondwet, streed voor vrouwenrechten en hielp met voorlichting voor de allereerste verkiezingen van het land.
Tijdens een politieke demonstratie in Guguleto township op 25 augustus 1993, kwam Amy Biehl tragisch om het leven. Voor de moord werden vier jonge mannen veroordeeld tot 18 jaar cel. Als eerbetoon aan Amy's liefde voor Zuid-Afrika en haar geloof in verzoening, steunden Amy's ouders het verzoek van de vier mannen om amnestie en werden de mannen in 1998 vrijgelaten uit de gevangenis.
Om het werk van hun dochter voort te zetten, richtten Amy's ouders in 1997 de Amy Biehl Foundation op. Momenteel werken twee van de mannen die Amy Biehl vermoordden voor de stichting, waarmee ze een rolmodel zijn wat betreft verzoening en het beteren van je leven.

[description] => Afrika bezoeken, een droom van velen, en wij gaan onze droom verwezenlijken! Wij zijn Matty de Jong, Femke Wouters en Iris in ’t Groen en zijn alle drie 16 jaar oud. We zitten in vwo 5 van het Cambreur College in Dongen waar we een tweetalige opleiding volgen. Hierdoor hebben wij de kans gekregen om een internationale stage te bedenken en uit te voeren. Wij dachten meteen aan Afrika! Juist omdat hier een hele andere cultuur heerst, die wij graag eens willen ervaren. Veel mensen in onze omgeving dachten dat dit een “mission impossible” zou worden en ook onze ouders waren niet meteen heel erg enthousiast. Dit kwam vooral door onze leeftijd en door veel negatieve verhalen over Afrika met betrekking tot veiligheid. Natuurlijk weerhield ons dit niet om onze droom door te zetten. Na maanden lang zoeken naar organisaties die ons willen en kunnen begeleiden op onze stage zijn we uiteindelijk terecht gekomen bij stichting Ubuntu Nederland. Deze stichting heeft ons tot nu toe erg goed geholpen met alles. Ze hebben ons ook in contact gebracht met de Amy Biehl Foundation en ook deze wil ons graag ontvangen in Kaapstad. Hierdoor krijgen onze ouders steeds meer vertrouwen om ons naar Afrika te laten gaan, mede omdat onze leraar Bram Thielen ons ook vergezelt op onze reis. Het project wat we concreet gaan begeleiden is: The Bongolethu Amy Biehl after school centre. Er wordt in dit specifieke project dagelijks aan ongeveer 300 straatkinderen in de townships na school dans, toneel, sport, computerles, taal en….een broodmaaltijd gegeven. De Amy Biehl Foundation draait voor een groot deel uit vrijwilligers. Voor een vrijwilligersorganisatie is het erg belangrijk om uit zoveel mogelijke bronnen geld in te zamelen en daarom is ook ons gevraagd om een donatie van €3000, - euro. Op dit moment zijn wij erg druk bezig met het inzamelen van dit bedrag. Dit kost ons heel veel tijd en energie, maar het vooruitzicht om werkelijk in Afrika te komen, zorgt ervoor dat we alles met veel plezier doen. Het feit dat we al op €1200 zitten en we nog een paar leuke dingen in het vooruitzicht hebben geeft ons veel vertrouwen dat we in het eind van april / het begin van mei een fantastische tijd gaan hebben in Zuid-Afrika. Het zal een ervaring zijn, die ons de rest van ons leven bij blijft.
